RC Input Spits Out 0

I connect CH1 from the receiver to the RC Input. When I connect to mission planner and go to radio calibration, nothing changes. I also went to the example scripts and ran the python and cpp RCInput code, but only got 0 as outputs.

Is there something I am missing??
